    Spotlight Deal

Smaller size and lighter weight make this tablet easier to hold for extended periods than its larger brethren. The model has a bright, sharp display with a large viewing angle, meaning you don’t need to hold it dead center in front of your face to see it clearly. The A15 Bionic chip is blazing fast, so web browsing and watching movies seem smooth and stutter-free. The battery life is impressive, too. Other features include a USB-C port and upgraded cameras.

Why it’s a good deal: If you’re in the market for an iPad, this $100 discount might be too good to pass up.

    TVs

This 75-inch Hisense set, the Hisense 75A6H, had only decent overall picture quality in our tests. It’s a Google TV model that has a wider-than-average viewing angle for an LCD-based set.

Why it’s a good deal: This set is at a low price for its size, good for less finicky viewers looking for a jumbo-sized set.

The LG OLED65C1PUB is a top overall performer, and a great choice for anyone looking for a set with great picture quality and an impressive HDR experience. It also has top-notch sound.

Why it’s a good deal: Best Buy has the best deal on this TV, a 2021 set, right now, several hundred dollars less than its competitors.

    Headphones

Noise-canceling true wireless earbuds at a stocking stuffer price? No, that’s neither a joke nor a typo. The 1More ComfoBuds Pro channel Apple’s AirPods in terms of styling, and our testers report that they’re not far off in terms of performance at a small fraction of the price. You might even think about a second pair so you can treat yourself to your favorite holiday tunes.

Why it’s a good deal: With this coupon, the feature-packed ComfoBuds represent the kind of deal that would have been unheard of just a couple of years ago.

The Pixel Bud Pros are solid noise-canceling true wireless earbuds. Our testers give them solid marks for sound quality and they fare even better when it comes to noise-canceling performance. There are other earbuds that perform about as well for somewhat less, but if you have a Pixel phone or a Pixel watch, the way the Pixel Buds work in the company’s ecosystem AirPod-style might make them worth the money.

Why it’s a good deal: This sale represents a nice discount on earbuds that should play nicely with your Pixel Phone and/or your Pixel Watch.

    Laptops

If you want the very latest MacBook Air, here it is—at a nice discount. Like the similarly impressive M1-chip-powered model, it combines fast performance with great battery life and a great display. But it comes in a wider selection of colors and adds full-sized function keys, plus an upgraded webcam. This one has solid specs, too: 8 gigabytes of memory and a 256GB solid-state drive.

Why it’s a good deal: This sale price is $100 less than we’ve seen in the last few weeks.

The Microsoft Surface Pro X, released in fall 2019, has some drawbacks but is well worth a look at this price. It has a 13-inch display that can be detached from the keyboard. That makes it a good pick if you plan to use it like a digital sketchpad or tablet. It also has pretty good battery life, making it a good travel companion. But the ARM processor is a little on the slow side compared with the Intel chips found in other Surface devices. It also creates some software compatibility issues. Our testers, for example, couldn’t run certain antivirus software. Microsoft maintains a list of apps that might not run on the Pro X, so be sure to consult it before purchasing the laptop.

Why it’s a good deal: More than a third off the regular price is a significant discount for any laptop.

    Tablets

The iPad Pro is a machine for power users, and it delivers the level of performance you’d expect from a high-end laptop. The display uses a technology called Mini LED, also present in some high-end TVs, that produces more vibrant images and better contrast than what’s possible with traditional LCD tech. It also has a lightning-fast refresh rate, which makes the animations in everything from video games to simply scrolling around iPadOS look smoother. The Pro has an exceptional camera and Apple’s blazing fast M1 processor, and the company ditched the lighting port in favor of a USB-C connector (meaning you’ll use the same cable that powers newer MacBooks). The model also aced our battery life tests.

    Why it’s a good deal: A $300 savings on a top-rated model? Yes, please.

The Galaxy Tab S8 is a great option for people who want an Android tablet with high performance. Just keep in mind that top performance isn’t necessary for simple tasks such as reading email, watching movies, and surfing the web. The Galaxy Tab S7 is also on sale if you need a fast device but want something a little cheaper.

Why it’s a good deal: This is just a few dollars more than the best price we’ve seen all year.

    Streaming Devices

If you’re not picky about having the fastest speeds and WiFi 6 compatibility, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K delivers a solid performance at a better price. The 4K stick-style player has a nice array of content and features—including voice control and Dolby Vision HDR. You can control it from Alexa-enabled devices such as the Echo and Dot, and use the included remote to control power and volume on many TVs and sound bar speakers. The player comes with an Alexa remote control with dedicated buttons for Amazon, Disney+, Hulu, and Netflix.

Why it’s a good deal: This matches the best price we’ve seen.

Situated right below the Roku Streaming Stick 4K+ model, the Streaming Stick 4K has most of the same features—including improved WiFi, support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR, and the ability to work with Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPlay, and Google Assistant voice assistant—but not the new rechargeable Voice Remote Pro remote control. Instead, you get a standard Roku voice remote, which lacks the hands-free operation, a headphone jack for private listening, and a lost-remote finder feature found on the Voice Remote Pro.

Why it’s a good deal: This matches the best price we’ve ever seen for this model.

    Fitness Trackers and Smartwatches

Apple’s new high-end Watch, the Apple Watch Ultra, looks like a radical rethinking of the device. It has a chunky titanium case and a larger crown and button that can be operated with gloves if you’re adventuring on Annapurna.

But its rugged case, larger, brighter display, easier-to-use controls and longer battery life are also useful on the adventure that is your morning commute. The Ultra also performed admirably in our lab tests.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s admittedly a modest discount, but the Ultra is a hot new model, so even a small price break is welcome.

The Fitbit Charge 5 is the company’s top-of-the-line fitness tracker. It includes a number of features, like stress tracking and EKG monitoring, that tend to be found in smartwatches. It also has Fitbit’s robust array of fitness functions, although getting full access to your data will require a $10 monthly membership to Fitbit Premium. The large-ish color display and more elegant styling make the Charge 5 more suitable for all-day wear.

Why it’s a good deal: The biggest drawback to the full-featured Charge 5 is probably its smartwatch-like price, but this sale alleviates that problem.

    Bluetooth and Smart Speakers

The Sonos One is something of a classic, a versatile, top-performing smart speaker that can work as part of a multiroom system with other Sonos speakers and soundbars. It offers multiple options when it comes to digital assistants, working with Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant and Apple’s AirPlay, as well as Sonos’s own digital assistant. Sonically, our testers found the Sonos One’s sound to be clear and detailed, and the bass to be tight and impactful, if not super-deep.

Why it’s a good deal; Sonos speakers are almost never discounted, so it’s unlikely you’ll find a lower price this year.

The boom-box-style XG300 is one of the better-sounding portable speakers we’ve tested, with bass that has a decent amount of sock and a clear, even midrange. The XG300 does what you want in a tailgating speaker with decent volume, IP67 water resistance, and a rechargeable battery that delivers 25 hours of battery life, according to Sony.

Why it’s a good deal: The Sony is a very good performer, and a $100 discount makes it even more appealing.

    Soundbars

The Sonos Beam is an all-in-one model from Sonos delivers very good overall sound quality; it’s among the best-sounding soundbars in our ratings. One big difference from its predecessor is that it supports Dolby Atmos audio, though it doesn’t have upfiring drivers; instead, it uses signal processing and phased speaker arrays to create Atmos effects.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a nice discount on a model from a brand that doesn’t do big sales very often.

The 2022 Samsung HW-Q700B soundbar can wirelessly send a Dolby Atmos signal to a compatible Samsung TV over WiFi. It has Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2 built in, and it will work with Alexa and Google Assistant devices, so you can control it using voice commands. You can also expand it with the optional rear-speaker kit.

Why it’s a good deal: We hadn’t seen a discount on this model in months until the price dropped a few weeks ago. And it just dropped another $80.

    Wireless Routers

If you don’t need (or want) a multirouter mesh setup, this single-unit WiFi 6 model from Netgear should be near the top of your list. It aced our throughput tests at all distances and was easy to set up via a smartphone app or an old-school, web-based wizard.

There’s automatic firmware updating to keep your data safe, plus four Ethernet ports and one USB port for connecting peripherals.

Why it’s a good deal: The sale price just dropped a few more bucks compared with last week.

The Google Nest Wifi three-pack provides decent all-around performance, scoring well for throughput at near- and medium-range distances. It may fall a bit short in large homes, though, and it’s “only” WiFi 5-compatible. But at this price, it’s hard to complain.

Why it’s a good deal: This router system typically retails for $350, making this an impressive deal.

    Gaming Chairs

Herman Miller x Logitech Embody Gaming Chair

The Embody doesn’t have the sportscar look of other gaming chairs, but it’s a premium pick, earning exemplary scores for ergonomics, comfort, and ease of assembly. The controls on the chair and the proprietary BackFit adjustment system may require some patience to master, though.

    Why It’s a good deal: That’s a 25 percent discount on a well-designed chair.

    Mavix M9 Gaming Chair

The Mavix M9 does certain key things well enough that you might be willing to overlook a few shortcomings. Our testers admire the open-seat design and the fact that the chair is widely adjustable. The model is one of the more comfortable gaming chairs we reviewed, too. Just be prepared for a learning curve when it’s time to master the controls, which are labeled but somewhat hard to read.

Why it’s a good deal: The Black/Glacier model is the only one on sale. We did see it selling for about $75 less for Black Friday, but don’t expect that sale price to come back.

    More Deals

The Dell XPS desktop is a top performer all around, even for demanding video games. This model has an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card and a 1 terabyte solid-state drive. The one we tested had an AMD Radeon graphics card, a 512GB solid-state drive, plus the 1 terabyte hard-disk drive. But otherwise the specs are identical: an Intel Core i7 processor, 32 gigabytes of memory, and a DVD burner.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a significant price drop on a high-end computer.

This LG gaming monitor performs well overall, delivering fluid motion, but those with Freesync-compatible computers may be disappointed with the input lag. (We found no problems with G-Sync lag.) The model lets you adjust the height and tilt of the screen and conveniently rotates between a landscape and a portrait orientation, for those who want the benefits of a vertical screen (less consumption of desktop space, less head-turning, and easier scrolling through Instagram feeds). The model has just two USB ports.

Why it’s a good deal: The model usually sells for about $50 more.

    Zhiyun Smooth 5 Smartphone Gimbal

Advanced controls, combined with the fact that the phone mount starts off in a horizontal orientation (native to YouTube) rather than the more selfie-minded vertical orientation (native to TikTok), gives the Smooth 5 a more professional feel than other gimbals. The design allows a greater range of movement, too, so your phone’s camera can tilt higher or lower for more extreme angles. Getting the model ready to run requires a bit of patience, though—you not only have to unlock a few of the arms but often need to switch a toggle and manually balance the arm that holds your smartphone. And shooting with the model’s ZY Cami software leaves much to be desired. As a result, you’ll most likely find yourself forgoing some features to shoot in your phone’s native camera app.

Why it’s a good deal: Best Buy has the lowest price we’ve seen for this gimbal.
